Despite the lack of a traditional power supply, the Zen Go can be fueled by a USB power pack or a mains converter. So, in addition to the Zen Go's primary Type C USB port, there's a second one labelled with a lightning flash like the Thunderbolt emblem. The limited power available through USB restricts the design of audio interfaces, and the addition of the Synergy Core means the Zen Go pushes the boundaries. Because it is a bus powered interface, the Zen Go does not require the external power source seen on the Zen Tour. The Zen Go, on the other hand, is a USB-only gadget. The majority of Antelope's other interfaces, including the Zen Tour, provide a Thunderbolt or USB connection to the host computer. In contrast to the Zen Tour, it does not have a touchscreen the display could have been a little brighter. The inputs and outputs are well built and firmly connected to the aluminum housing. As additional control elements, there are three more metal buttons on the surface, which have a clear pressure point and also give a good acoustic feedback when pressed. The rotary control, which is an endless encoder with a raster, feels high-quality and sits without play. Thanks to the rubber studs on the bottom of the interface, it sits very firmly on the table, which is noticeable when the headphones are plugged in and unplugged. The Antelope Audio Zen Go Synergy Core Audio Interface is solidly built and relatively light despite the metal construction.
